A gunman opened fire inside a Michigan church during Sunday services, the latest of many shooting attacks on houses of worship in the U.S. over the past 20 years.
The September jobs report is expected to show a payroll gain of 45,000, up from 22,000 in the prior month, with the unemployment rate holding steady at 4.3%.
Hundreds of people were inside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township when a man rammed his vehicle into the front door then started shooting.
"Our position is not a negotiating tactic," National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac said. "It is objectively and realistically not a level we are able to handle."
