Unless something changes, the land under one of America's most strategic military bases will be owned by Mauritius, a country with deep and growing ties to China.
The base at Diego Garcia enables the U.S. to conduct operations in support of regional stability and provide rapid crisis response, the U.S. Seventh Fleet said.
