Rubio says Trump administration is "pretty certain" Western oil companies will return to Venezuela but wouldn't say if US troops would be used to secure its oil fields.

Secretary of State Rubio says U.S. was in charge of the "direction" of Venezuela after U.S. forces arrested and deposed Venezuelan President Maduro on Saturday.

Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine said more than 150 U.S. aircraft were used.

"We can't take a chance that somebody else takes over Venezuela that doesn't have the good of the Venezuelan people in mind," Trump said.
