Buttigieg, a potential 2028 Democratic presidential contender, shared his family's experience when police and Child Protective Services came to his home investigating an anonymous tip that was false.
Authorities arranged forensic interviews for his twins and instructed him not to be alone with them until the interviews were complete.
The former transportation secretary said he was forced to spend 24 hours away from his 4-year-old twins during the probe. Police determined it was a false report.
"I cannot describe the mix of rage and sadness that I feel at the idea that someone brought our children into this," he said.
